A temporary ceasefire was observed at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Torkham following recent exchanges of fire. The pause was agreed to retrieve a body lying at Zero Point along the frontier and to facilitate identification and handover. Local sources said jirgas from both Pakistan and Afghanistan were expected to arrive to assist in identifying the deceased and coordinating the recovery. However, Afghan jirga members reportedly did not receive authorization from their higher authorities to collect the body. The ceasefire was set to remain in effect until 5:30 PM to allow time for the identification and handover process. Despite the pause, the body remains at Zero Point, with the deceased believed to be an Afghan national pending formal confirmation.
